Paris, capital of France, is a city of world renown. It is divided into 20 districts (same principle as the cities of Lyon and Marseille) and is the most populous city in France and the 29th most populated in the world with 2.2 million inhabitants.
Symbol of French culture, Paris is home to many monuments: the city is nicknamed the City of Light. It attracts nearly 30 million visitors a year making it one of the most visited capitals in the world. It would even be the most popular destination in the world. Paris also has a very important place in the world of fashion and luxury.
Paris has more than 1,800 buildings classified or included in the inventory of historic monuments. Its historical and cultural heritage is very rich.
While traveling, I realized that Paris was a city very much liked by foreigners, even if they did not know it. They have in mind the ideal images of films, where we see the French clichés in other eras. Unfortunately, in recent years, Paris is subject to an increase in crime and it is rather dangerous to walk alone at night when you are a woman. I went to Paris a dozen times, either for pleasure and to see friends or work and I always enjoyed my stays. It must be colder than in the south, but the monuments are so beautiful to see that this easily compensates. There would be hundreds of articles to make, but I will introduce you to the inescapable Paris:
The Eiffel Tower, puddled iron tower of 324 meters in height is undoubtedly the most visited monument of Paris. Built by Gustave Eiffel and his collaborators for the Paris Exposition of 1889, it is now a tourist site in its own right. A true emblem of the city, it is found in many media to make understand that the scene takes place in Paris.
Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral is also one of the most emblematic monuments of Paris and holds a symbolic place of first rank in its image.
The Avenue des Champs Elysées is the most famous avenue in Paris, a length of 1910 meters from Place de la Concorde to Place Charles-de-Gaulle, where the Arc de Triomphe is located.
There are also several very beautiful bridges such as Bridge of the Arts (famous for all the candeas hanging there, a symbol of eternal love) and Pont Alexandre III, probably the most beautiful bridge in Paris.
The city of Paris is full of charm at every little alley. Architecture is a profound mark of the landscape of Paris: it is the whole history of the city that can be read through its palaces, churches, buildings and narrow streets. It is really art that is found on every street corner.
Paris is undoubtedly the romantic city, the paradise of lovers. It is a city to discover at least once in his life!
